To coincide with the Peters Valley Open House/Bevans Day

The Delaware Highlands Seven exhibition will highlight seven exceptional artists in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York areas which border on the Delaware River. We are lucky to live in an area so rich in talent and artistic diversity and Peters Valley is proud to put a spotlight on our region’s best. Slated to coincide with the ever popular annual Open House/Bevans Day, the Opening Reception will be held in the second floor Sally D. Francisco Gallery from 12-6pm.

The Delaware Highlands Seven exhibition is an in-depth look at seven artists who live in the Delaware River Highland’s region. Matching an artist to each of Peters Valley’s seven artistic workshop categories, the exhibiting artists are:

Jim Wykoff (Blacksmithing), David Greenbaum (Ceramics), Jane Voorhees (Fine Metals), Ray Yaros (Photography), Sasha Zhitneva (Special Topics), Daniel Moore (Woodworking), and Elizabeth Rand (Fibers).

Each of these artists has achieved a high level of artistic excellence in their field and we are delighted that they are joining us in showing the wonderful quality of artists in this region.

Please join us for a day of art, craft demonstrations, food and fun on
Sunday, May 4th, 2008 from 12 noon to 5pm.

In addition to this unique exhibition, the day will celebrate and remember Bevans, the village that pre-dated Peters Valley Craft Center with historic information provided by the Sandyston Township Historical Society and the Walpack Historical Society. Unique and interesting contemporary crafts will be on sale at the Peters Valley Store and Gallery and local artists will be exhibiting and selling their artwork. Come and enjoy craft demonstrations, historical displays, listen to the bluegrass sounds of The Lost Ramblers and grab a bite to eat!
