Date: July 27 - 31, 2012 (5 Days)
Instructor: Stephanie Maddalena
Level: Intermediate
Class Description: In this workshop students will learn to break some rules to make glass flowers, leaves, berries and mushrooms both on and off mandrels. Because this is an intermediate workshop, you will need to have a basic understanding of lampworking and an ability to use a lampworking torch. We will mix our own colors, add enamels, frits and foil and sculpt flower forms. The workshop will conclude with a demonstration of how to compile the flowers into a fabulous wearable such as a necklace, brooch, ring or earrings.
Instructor Bio: Stephanie Maddalena has a BA in Fine Arts. She has been lampworking since 1994 after a workshop with Kate Fowle Meleney . Stephanie now teaches at the Art School at Old Church in Demarest, NJ, Silvermine and the Guilford Art Center in CT and the Rockland Center for the Arts and Hudson Beach Glass in NY. She has spent the past 14 years teaching throughout the northeast and was published in La Vie claire Magazine, Spring, 2004.
