Date: May 31 – June 4, 2013 (5 days)
Instructor: Harry Sandler
Level: Beginner and Beyond
Class Description: The iPhone is a modern day Polaroid Camera albeit much smaller. You are able to hold a complete imaging system with processing capability in your hand. The iPhone is more then just a vehicle for making snapshots but instead a powerful creative tool for making artistic imagery. It can simply be a visual diary or a field laboratory to explore all possibilities in the image one wants to create. Additionally these images can be printed with good color, resolution, depth and texture. Other topics covered will include how to: properly capture an image with proper resolution, work with the various application software available, figure out a personal workflow, take several images and create panoramas right in the phone, and learn post-processing for printing images.
Instructor Bio: Harry Sandler is well versed in the iPhone process and has over two years experience in the field. Harry has captured images with his iPhone all over the world to include places like Death Valley, Isle of Skye and most of the National Parks in the United States. His passion for photography started at age 6 when his father gave him an early Polaroid camera. He was instantly intoxicated watching images appear as you peeled the print from the back of the camera. Harry spent a good deal of time learning the technical aspects of photography but was always attracted to that alternative expressionist look at life through the lens of a camera. Additionally, Mr. Sandler has had a career in entertainment away from the camera, serving in various roles over the years such as Film and Video Producer and Tour Management. In this respect, he has worked with some of entertainments most elite acts, like Barbara Streisand, John Mellencamp, Eagles, Billy Joel, Jewel, Van Halen, Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Nicks. Sandler currently has one of the first iPhone imagery shows hanging at the Renaissance Fine Art and Design Gallery in Carmel, Indiana.
