Instructor: Peter Happny
Level: Advanced Beginner and Beyond
Class Description: Expand your horizons for making sculptural forms using blacksmithing techniques. We will forge solid, sheet and tubular material while learning simple techniques for making the transformation from two to three dimensions. The emphasis will be to let loose and step outside your comfort zone while exploring unorthodox methods and solutions. We will also discuss combining metal with glass, clay, textiles and other media as well as ways to present proposals, models, pricing, finishes and installation of work. Bring problem areas with you to work on along with your sense of humor. There are answers to be found.
