Ahhh... Welcome SPRING! With the onset of warmer weather, Peters Valley begins to bloom with the excitement of a new season.

The Delaware Water Gap is bursting with new life. Join us soon to listen to the pulse of nature and see the Gap burst into new life. Consider a hike along the Appalachian Trail. The Waterfalls and the rivers are bounding with the energy of the excess rainfall and melted snow. Take some photos, take a sketch pad, bring a whittling knife, or whatever tools allow you to capture the moment. Then share your art with others. That's what we are about, isn't it? Expressing moments and inspiration through art.

Registrations for summer workshops are in full swing and there are already filled-to-capacity classes. If you haven't already signed up for the workshop of your choice, be sure to do so soon... www.petersvalley.org.

Whether you are a novice in your chosen craft or a seasoned professional, Peters Valley has a workshop for you. May 17th and 18th is the beginners weekend.

JIMMY & ANGELA CLARK are exhibiting in the window of the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council at 137 Spring Street in Newton. The show is up till mid-April.

Coming March 29 (and through April 27) is the Guest Artist Residency Exhibition.

Guest Artist Exhibition

This is an opportunity to view the artistry of those who have taken part in the new Guest Artist Residency program, which began in 2005.

The exhibition will highlight the 50 artists who have made Peters Valley an integral step in their art and craft experience.

Kicking off our gallery season, the show will open with a special Reception on March 29th and the exhibition will run until Sunday, April 27.

We hope to see you all there!

One of our summer instructors, ANN CLARKE(a knitter who creates
one-of-a-kind wearable art), will speak about her work at the March meeting of the Textile Study Group of New York. Click here for details.

Karen Henderson will have her work included in FIBER ARTISTS: PHILADELPHIA, #5 an exhibition of texture and technique, curated by K. Pannepacker.

This salon-style exhibition features the work of 46 regional textile artists, and runs from March 5th-30th, 2008. Opening reception is Sunday, March 9th, 1-5p.m.

SPECIAL TOPICS
Special Topics at Peters Valley Craft Center

Special Topics for 2008 include some truly interesting crafts: The workshops range from making "Studio Shoes" with Sharon Raymond and Colette Peters teaching Cake Sculpture, to Sculpure frok found objects with Harry Anderson and Chris Kluge's Marionette-making class.
