Opportunities for Artists

Peters Valley is pleased to offer a variety of opportunities for both established and emerging artists to pursue their personal and professional growth and development.

Workshop Instructors
A great opportunity for established artists to a part of our Summer Workshop Program. Workshops range from 2 to 5 days in length and run mid-May through mid-September. New and exciting workshop subjects and instrutors are always being sought for both the Adult workshops and our Youth Art program. Please send a short proposal, resume and a few images of your work to Jennifer Apgar, Education Director for consideration.

Summer Studio Assistants
A great learning experience for emerging artists. Spend the summer working alongside Peters Valley studio managers and visiting instructors. Expand your understanding of studio operations and maintenance.

Artist Fellows
A unique opportunity for established artists to manage all aspects of one of Peters Valley’s Studios for a six month period.

Artist Residencies
Devote yourself to your work on Peters Valley’s beautiful campus in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Available October 1 – November 29; from two to seven weeks in length.

Craftsmen At Work Demonstrators
This innovative program sends working artists into schools and other facilities for a day of demonstration. All demonstrators are paid for their time. If you are interested in being considered as a demonstrator, please contact Lindsay Gates, Development Director.

Craft Fair Exhibitors
Sell your work at Peters Valley’s 47th Annual Craft Fair, Saturday- Sunday, September, 23-24, 2017 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ. Established and emerging artists are welcome to apply to this juried show which attracts over 7,000 attendees each year.

Consigned Artists
The Peters Valley Gallery sells work from dozens of talented Artists and Craftspeople who consign their work in the store.

Gallery Exhibitions
Have an idea for an individual or group show? Peters Valley reviews exhibition proposals for themed exhibitions on an ongoing basis.

We now also offer juried exhibitions in our Gallery periodically. Applications are processed through Juried Art Services.

Special Needs: Peters Valley is committed to being accessible to all of our students. However, the terrain at the Valley is natural and some of the historic buildings are only partially accessible. Paths and driveways are not paved. If you need special assistance, please indicate your needs with your workshop application. At least two weeks notice must be given when requesting special assistance so that we have time to accommodate your needs.
