Driving Directions & Public Transportation

To Peters Valley's Campus

Founded in 1970, Peters Valley is located within the scenic, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area along the Delaware River. We are in the northwest corner of New Jersey, where NY, NJ & PA meet. The campus is a rural setting with a wooded landscape, just 2 hours north of Philadelphia and only 60 miles northwest of NYC. Public Transportation from NYC is available.

Driving Directions 

From Route 80 (NJ): Take Exit 34B to Route 15 North to Route 206 North, left onto Route 560 West, straight through the blinking light in the center of Layton, onto Route 640; go about 2 miles and turn right at stop sign onto Route 615.  Go approximately 1/2 mile and you're here!

From Route 209 (PA): Take Route 739 South across the Dingmans Ferry Bridge (.75 toll). Take the first right at the sign to Peters Valley (Walpack Road North). Follow the road approximately 2 miles until you come to a stop sign. You are now in the heart of Peters Valley. Make a right at the stop sign - parking is on the right and left of the road by the office and Store & Gallery.

From Route 84 (PA, NY, CT): Take Route 84 to exit 46 (Milford, PA). Take Route 6 into the town of Milford. Go straight at the traffic light onto Route 209 South. Follow (about 15 min.) until you reach the traffic light that intersects Route 739. Take Route 739 South across the Dingmans Ferry Bridge (.75 toll) Take the first right at the sign to Peters Valley (Walpack Road North). Follow the road approximately 2 miles until you come to a stop sign. You are now in the heart of Peters Valley. Make a right at the stop sign - parking is on the right and left of the road by the office and Store & Gallery.

Public Transportation

Peters Valley is located approximately 70 miles from Newark International Airport.  This is the closest and most convenient airport. There is no direct public transportation available. There are private shuttle companies in the area.

Lakeland Bus Co., out of Port Authority in NYC, comes to Newton, NJ, 12 miles from Peters Valley. One of our summer staff can collect you from the stop for a $20 fee or there are local taxi services available. These arrangements must be made at least three days prior to your arrival. **Your stop in Newton will be behind the Shoprite Grocery Store.

Coach: Shortline Bus Co., out of Port Authority in NYC, comes to Milford, PA (which is in Pike County Pennsylvania), 12 miles from Peters Valley. One of our summer staff can collect you from the stop for a $20 fee or there are local taxi services available. These arrangements must be made at least three days prior to your arrival. **Your stop in Milford will be at the Turkey Hill Gas Station.

The closest you can get by train is Port Jervis, NY or Dover, NJ.
